Just found out about this nutritious vegetable same with spinach that my mom always prepare and a good source of ink. You see it everywhere in our neighbors backyard. It is also a good substitute for Ampalaya leaves or Spinach. My mother prepare mung beans soup with this vegetable and it is really good. We also prepare this steam with other vegetable like egg plant, okra and Bitter gourd then soak in calamansi and with steam fish. Alugbati has a good source of antioxidants; good source of vitamins A, B, and C, calcium and iron. Unlike other vegetable Alugbati has no bitter taste.
Beside from its Nutritional benefit ink production is one of the good source of this vegetable. According to DOST (Department of Science and Technology) Researchers that Alugbati bruits can be use as a good source in making a ink. The raw juice extract can be used as markers with the use of brush; but when processed, it can be a good writing ink. Amazing isn't it. Beside if you will do some ink business with this plat you will not need to have a big capital because you can found this plant everywhere and it is very easy to plant.
Alugbati is also best in healing Abscess and Furuncle.
So what is Abscess. According to wikepedia that abscess is a collection of pus (dead neutrophils) that has accumulated in a cavity formed by the tissue in which the pus resides on the basis of an infectious process (usually caused by bacteria or parasites) or other foreign materials (e.g., splinters, bullet wounds, or injecting needles). It is a defensive reaction of the tissue to prevent the spread of infectious materials to other parts of the body.
Furuncle is very familiar also known as Pigsa. It is a deep infective folliculitis (infection of the hair follicle). It is almost always caused by infection by the bacterium Staphylococcus aureus, resulting in a painful swollen area on the skin caused by an accumulation ofpus and dead tissue.

How to apply Alugbati on this infections.
Just have 2 leaves and rinse carefully. Minced this leaves and gently applied to the infected area.
Alugbati is also good for burns and scalds.
Leaf-Juice and mixed it with butter and apply this to burn area and scald and will help to sooth and cool the affected area..
